Jumping Through January

At times I thought January would never end.  I guess that comes from basically being stuck at home the whole month.  But then all of the sudden, the month was over and I am wondering where the time has gone! Looking back at these pictures, I can tell you that our time has gone to our two adorable children!  While there are many days full of frustration, I honestly wouldn't trade the time I get to spend with these two!!!
Garrett has discovered that Tori is very entertaining, he loves watching her and all her antics!
Tori has rediscovered the bouncer chair.  It looks pretty comfy to me!
And it can also provide a great spot for stretching- I wish I was that flexible!
This girl has got some moves!!!
Poor Prince, I don't know if he is quite ready for Tori and her mode of playing!
I just can't get over how cute Tori is- especially when this smile comes out!!!
I think Garrett is going to be a blankie kid- he loves hanging on to them!
It cracks me up when Tori gives Garrett a kiss- she still leaves about an inch between the two of them!
Here's my girl!!!
Happy January everyone, and here's to a fantastic February!!!

Dressing Up

Tori has always been a fan of clothes, shoes, socks, bows, and flowers.  And lately Tori has really gotten into playing dress-up! It is so fun to watch her get herself all dressed up and see her imagination start to take off!!!
Here is our little Rapunzel!
Tori came out of her room after her 'nap' like this - I wonder how much sleep she actually got?!
Getting the double skirt look going!
Yep, it looks cute too!!!
I love watching her get all dressed up by herself!
This is typically how Tori wears her Snow White dress - in half and inside out!!!
Blankie is the perfect finishing touch!
With a girl who already loves clothes so much, we can't wait to see what fashion adventures await us!

Garrett's Newborn Pictures

Shortly after Garrett was blessed in late November, Jared and I decided that we were going to get some professional newborn pictures of him taken-especially of Garrett in his blessing outfit.  Well, within a week of that decision, Garrett was in the hospital and, needless to say, no professional pictures were ever taken.  When Garrett finally was able to come home, we were advised to seriously limit who he was around until the end of RSV season - basically until the end of March.  At that point we kind of gave up on the professional picture idea for his blessing outfit- most likely it wouldn't fit him once April gets here.  Last night I was thinking about all of this and feeling so sad about the whole thing.  The more I thought about it, I realized that it was more than just not getting Garrett's pictures taken.  I felt like we had been cheated out of time, plans, and, in a sense, our dreams for our little boy.  Silly as it may sound, I felt robbed.  So today I decided to do something about it!  While Jared and Tori were at church, Garrett and I had his newborn photo shoot!!!  They may not be professional, but somehow it helped heal up those feelings a little!
The first order of business- capture Garrett in his blessing day outfit! (I was so glad it still fit!)
What a cute boy!
So serious!
There's my smilin' boy!!!
I love this one!
Then I decided to let Garrett wear all the ties he got for Christmas!  Here is one that Aunt Terrah made him- he knows he looks good!
Next was the bow tie that Aunt Terrah made- he did not like the process of getting it on!
This was my favorite tie by far!!!
Look how strong he is getting!
I don't know how we ever managed to get along without this boy- love him so much!!! (By the way, this is the blanket I made him especially for his blessing day!)
And of course, no newborn photo shoot would be complete without some baby feet!
I hope you enjoyed Garrett's photo shoot- I know I did!!!

3 Months!!!

Garrett is three months old today - crazy how fast the last 3 months have flown by!  He is starting to play with toys and especially loves his mobile!  I think Garrett is thoroughly entertained by Tori- he loves watching her and will follow her around with his eyes.  I have a feeling this kid is going to be a fish - he loves, loves, loves his baths!  It is so fun watching him kick up a storm!  This past month we have also discovered that Garrett loves to sleep on his tummy! Without further ado - here are pictures of our big 3 month old!!!
Here is our reference picture with Garrett's bear - he is getting so big!
Love the faces he makes!!!
Perhaps this is his serious face!
Tori is always such a big help with our photo shoots!!!
What a cute boy!
I absolutely love this picture!  It seems like he is working on his weight lifting and coming off as super cool!!!
We are so glad to have this happy boy in our family - we wouldn't be complete without him!!!

A Great Appointment

This afternoon Garrett had an appointment with Dr Duck (his pediatrician) for his 2 month shots and following up on his hospital stay.  I am so glad to report that we don't need to ever put the NG (feeding) tube back in!  We can now go back to just nursing for his feedings!!!  Garrett is weighing in at 9 lbs 11 oz, which puts him on the small side again.  But our doctor said he wasn't surprised, or overly concerned at this point, considering how long he was in the hospital.  Dr. Duck predicts that now that we are home and Garrett is eating so much better and feeling so much better he will catch up on his weight in no time- here's hoping!!!
