While Tori is off playing in California, and Garrett and I are still here in warm Texas, Jared is back in the ice and cold of Indiana to move us to our new apartment and start his second semester of his PhD program. Today was the day of our big move. I have been feeling so guilty about having Jared do all of the move by himself. But, as it turns out, there was no need to worry. We were well taken care of by both our old and new Wards!
We had 15 people show up from our old Ward to help Jared load the moving van- which happened in 2 hours!
It's amazing how they got everything in there- we were a little worried!
Because of all our help in Indy, the moving in portion in Bloomington started an hour and a half earlier than we had expected! Brent (another PhD student in Jared's program) said he was so worried that it would be just him and Jared trying to move in all our stuff. And then our "Mormon Army" (as Brent dubbed them) arrived- we had 13 people from our new ward show up to help us move in!
They had the van unloaded in 45 minutes!
Which is probably why it is all in the front room of our apartment!
Now we have lots of unpacking to do!
We have felt such an outpouring of love on both ends of our move today! A task that seemed daunting suddenly became almost easy because of all the extra helping hands! Jared was able to return the moving van, finish a few cleaning things at our old house, and even get a few beds set up this evening! Someone even brought Jared dinner tonight! He is being well taken care of while we are all so far apart! A huge thanks to all that sacrificed part of their Saturday to help our family today!!!
We miss you guys! Hope things are going well in Bloomington.
