For years we have had attending the Indianapolis Strawberry Festival on our Indiana bucket list. It is a fundraiser for a little church on Monument Circle and always seemed like it would be so much fun! This year we finally made it happen and crossed it off our list!
Tori picked out an absolutely fabulous outfit for festival attendance!
So, while planning this, we decided to park at the White River church building and then walk to Monument Circle. We knew it would be far but wanted to avoid parking downtown with all the festival stuff going on. Well, we had to take an unplanned detour and our walk suddenly got much longer- it seemed to take us forever to get there. But we finally made it!
We quickly located the secret door Doris always told us about (thanks for the tip) to avoid standing in the super long lines. While Jared went in to get our strawberry shortcake, this is what Tori and Garrett did to pass the time! (I love that the hill the are rolling and running down is so tiny!)
Hurrah, Daddy made it back with our strawberry shortcake!
Check out all that yumminess!
Time to dig in!!!
Monument Circle was hopping!
Huge thanks to the random guy biking past that offered to take our picture in front of the Eiteljorg Museum! (There really are a lot of very nice people living here!)On our way back across the bridge, we let the kids throw some rocks into the river!
I think they may remember this more than the shortcake!
Watching for the splash!
Nice throw! (This kid has an arm!)
Last year Tori really wanted to learn how to climb trees, but was always a bit too nervous. This year she is picking it up super quick- what a monkey!!!So, was our drive, the ridiculously long walk, and fighting all of the crowds worth is just for some strawberry shortcake? Yes, it definitely was!!!
