Practice Makes Perfect

Tori is getting so much better at rolling over. Jared has been very diligent in helping her practice!!!

And today Tori sat up all by herself. Here is a picture of this momentous occasion! I know it looks like she is about to tip over, but she managed to keep herself up!!!
As far as an update on Tori's RSV - she still has her nasty cough, but is breathing so much better. I think her breathing treatments are definitely doing the trick. This is a picture of Tori during one of her breathing treatments a few days ago...

And then one today. She even looks like she feels better!

Tori has really been taking it easy lately!

And I just had to throw this picture in. The other night we were talking with Douglas over Skype. We put the headphones on Tori so she could talk with her Uncle Douglas, she looked so cute!!!

Being sick is no fun...

Tori started getting a nasty cold over the weekend. By last night, she was so congested and starting to wheeze when she would breath. We had her sleep in her swing in our room so we could be up when she was up. Basically, last night was a pretty much sleepless night for all three of us. This morning we called Tori's doctor and they got us right in. I really think that Dr. Duck knew what was going on right off the bat. He had us do two breathing treatments in the office and then told me that Tori has RSV. Luckily we are not headed to the hospital. But we now get to do breathing treatments every four hours at home for the next three weeks. Hopefully, that will do the trick. As a side note, Tori now weighs 13 pounds 11 ounces.

So now we are the proud owners of our own nebulizer. We did two more breathing treatments at home and Tori is already sounding so much better! I hope that she is on the mend and will be over this very quickly! We really were so blessed to catch it early enough that we didn't have to take her to the hospital!!!

Totally Tori

I am finding that Tori seems to be doing new things daily. So here are some of the fun new things that have been going on! Tori's new sound she is making lately is "w" - she has been saying her "g" sound for quite some time as well as her vowels!!! Today Tori started yelling. She was just fine, she is just a whole bunch louder. It was pretty funny watching her shout! Here she is talking up a storm to her froggy!

Tori is finally moving into wearing some of her 3-6 month clothes, but they are still a little big. I had to take a picture of this outfit - I have been waiting for so long for her to be able to wear it!

As previously posted, Tori is chewing on everything! Whether that is her hands,

her bunny,

or a washcloth!

Tori is starting to do so much better with sitting up. She still can't stay up by herself, but is needing much less support from us!

Tori absolutely loves playing with her Daddy! She usually starts giggling as soon as she hears him come in the door each afternoon. It just melts my heart to watch these two play together!!!

Tori has started to move around a little bit. Usually she moves by pushing back on her heels when she is on her back and scoots around that way. But lately she has also started to move a little during her tummy time. Here is her starting position...

and here is where she ended (check out the toys to see her progress). It took her about 20 minutes to make it this far. I'm sure she will be really moving before we even know it!

Just the last few days, Tori has started dancing in the tub. She basically pushes her bum in the air and then wiggles back and forth as she lets herself splash back into the water. It is so much fun to watch! Tori has also developed a new smile - well, I guess it's the same smile, just with her tongue stuck out too! It is so cute!

And here is our big girl who has decided that she really likes to stand up! Thanks Douglas and Nikki for her legwarmers, she looks absolutely adorable in them!!!

Roll Along

Tori rolled over (twice) for the first time today! I was so excited, but all alone. So I sent out tons of text messages! The best was when Jared called me and I got to tell him all of the details. Luckily our camera was close at hand and I was able to get a few pictures.

She got stuck half way for just a moment or two...

and then rolled over onto her back!

After she rolled over, I put her back on her stomach and she rolled over again. She did such a great job! I did try to get a video, but she was done after the second roll over. Hopefully we will capture her in action soon!!!

Photo Shoot

Today we had our first professional photo shoot as a family. We also wanted to get some pictures of Tori in her blessing dress since it really fits now! Our photographer couldn't have been better. She was so good with Tori and captured all of her fun facial expressions! Thanks to Douglas, you have seen a few in our awesome new header-isn't is great!!!! So here are a few other favorites!!!

5 Months...

Our baby girl is already 5 months old! Tori still doesn't like tummy time, but is getting to the point where she tolerates it. We are trying to get her up to 30 minutes a day- or at least working up to it! She is babbling so much and sounds like she is talking - I sure wish we knew what she was saying! Tori is also starting to be able to fall asleep by herself at night. I am a little torn by this development, I so love our cuddle time! Another big announcement, last Monday we saw two teeth on the bottom under her gums. Tori has been chewing on everything and drooling up a storm. Who knows, she may get her first tooth in the near future!

Tori's Room

I am happy to announce that my nesting instincts have finally fully kicked in. I did have some before Tori was born. We had her crib all set up, clothes washed and folded, and a car seat for her to come home in. But I never got to the decorating part - until now.

Her super cute "V" that AJ made for her if finally hanging on her wall.

Her mobile she got for Christmas is all set up and ready for her to play with.

And best of all, her room now looks like it belongs to a baby girl!!!

Happy 2010!!!

Jared, Tori, and I got back to Indy last night. I think that Tori was the most excited to be home and get out of the car!We went all out for our New Year's Eve celebration with a frozen pizza, root beer, and ice cream. We were a little disappointed that the ball in Times Square no longer drops, but had a great time welcoming in the new year anyway!!!

It felt so nice to sleep in this morning- Tori even slept in!!! Today we busted out the Wii Fit and our Wii miniature golf game. Thank you Santa - we had so much fun playing!!!
