Happy 27th!!!

Today Jared turned 27 years of age!!! Don't worry Mom Allen, I made sure that he woke up to the traditional birthday song (I think he was a little surprised) and that he used the very special red birthday plate! Jared has been so busy working on his thesis, that we couldn't celebrate in our usual style - don't worry, that will come later. But, I did have a great time planning a few fun things for the day!

I'm not quite sure, but I think he was excited about his present!
I do know that he was very excited about his funfetti cupcakes - they are his favorite! And I even found the right frosting this year -rainbow chip. Oh, so very yummy!

Jared blew out all of his 2 + 7 candles and I'm sure his birthday wishes will all come true! I hope you had a great birthday my Handsome Husband, I love you tons and tons!!!

Mr., Mr. DJ

Jared was asked to be the DJ for two church dances this month. The first was for the youth etiquette night a few weeks ago. I have to admit that he was in his element, complete with his DJ belt buckle. The youth had a great time, especially when he joined them in the line dance for Cotton Eyed Joe!
Give this man a microphone and he is in heaven!!!
The second dance was for a six Stake YSA activity. It was a little crazy being back with the single crowd, but we so enjoyed seeing many great friends we haven't seen in ages. I know that most of you will recognize Jared's look of complete concentration - he was hard at work!
But not so hard at work that he couldn't bust out a few moves!!!

Almost First Father's Day...

Today was a very special day in our house as it was the first time we have celebrated Father's day for Jared. He got a very sweet new tie (Croft and Borrow of course)! But the best gift of all was the tool belt that Tori gave her dad.
He is going to be all ready for any dirty diaper she can give him!
Seriously, Jared is going to be a great dad. He already reads Tori bedtime stories and sings to her. I love that he has already bonded with her and know that she recognizes his voice. I can't wait to watch their relationship bloom once she gets here!!!

It's Moving Day!

Since our little family is just about to grow, we decided that we should downgrade our living situation slightly. As we started looking around, we went in to talk to our office people and discovered that we had a fantastic option staring us right in the face. Basically, we moved from our 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 1 car garage house into a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment - which is much cheaper a month. Who knew that a 1 car garage cost so much! This move was really quite extensive, we moved a whopping 0.2 miles, with an estimated travel time of 0.73 minutes between the two locations. The funny thing is that in our minds we were downgrading, but there are a bunch of things we like better about our new place. It's kind of nice when things turn out like that! Thanks to everyone that helped us move, you were an answer to prayers!!! Here are a few pictures of our move and movers...
Here we are in front of our room full of boxes - don't worry, I didn't lift a thing!!!
Jared and Jon exercised all of their strength to move our ever-so-heavy couch. Just look at that concentration and strain!

I really felt bad about making all these great guys move my piano, but they did an incredible job. My piano has never been treated better!

Totally Wicked...

Jared and I, along with our friends Amber, Amanda, Sam, and Holly, were able to attend the musical Wicked this evening. We had awesome seats-we got to sit in the seats off to the side on the balcony, officially called Royalty seats! Sadly, we have no pictures of us attending this event. We had our camera with us, but when we got to the theater there were signs everywhere saying you couldn't bring your cameras in and to take them back to your car. So, we were good and took our camera back to our car. Then, once we were seating and waiting for the show to start, we started to notice that there were tons of cameras around. Rats, we should have just taken it in with us.
This production was one of our very favorites! The music is so great and the story is just fun. And our Glinda was absolutely fantastic, definitely a blonde!!! We laughed (and I cried - you know me and being pregnant is making the crying even worse) all the way through. If you ever get a chance, we highly recommend that you take in this show. It is one that we would love to see again and again!
