Exploring Indy

We love having visitors!  Not only is it grand just catching up with our guests, but it also gives us a chance to rediscover Indianapolis a little bit!  For Dad and Charlene's visit, we knew we were all going to be really worn out from our fun week in Atlanta.  So, for our first day of their visit we took things a bit slower and went downtown.  To start things off we had a picnic lunch at the church where Jared and I met and then we  walked along the White River and the canal!
Thanks a million times Charlene for taking this picture of our family!  (This view has always been one of my favorites of Indy!)
This is the steam clock outside the Indiana State Museum- sadly we missed when it went off!  But it still made for a great photo op- so fun to get all of us in!!!
One of our big planned events was to feed the ducks on the canal.  Well, the ducks were joined by a ton of really feisty geese, which made things a little interesting.  But we still had a great time- especially Tori!
Since the geese tended to try and chase us, we moved to the bridge- a much safer distance!!!
Tori loved feeding these little birds, too!  It was so fun watching them try to catch the bread in mid-air!
Tori had a fabulous time showing Nana and Grandpa around Indy!
She is always one to stop and smell the flowers!
Taking a short break in the shade- it felt so nice to relax for a bit!
Another fun family photo on the canal!
It's a good thing Tori had Daddy around when she didn't want to walk anymore!
By the end of our walk, it had really warmed up outside.  Poor Garrett looked so hot- but he was still so happy!!!
After our walk, we drove through the actual circle center of downtown so Dad and Charlene could see the War Memorial.  And then we went to get some Long's Donuts- they are probably the best donuts I have ever had.  It was the perfect way to rejuvenate after our downtown adventure!!!
For the rest of the day we took naps, played, and just enjoyed our company- it was wonderful!!!
Grandpa and Garrett loved playing with the racetrack!
And then Garrett and Nana had a little chat in the kitchen!
I love that Garrett and Grandpa are buds now- it's awesome!!!
Hurrah for a fantastic first day of Dad and Charlene't visit!  I'm sure the rest of their time with us will be just as great!!!
