Tori's First Tanning Session

Yesterday Tori's jaundice was getting a little high as it does with all infants. With this increase in her billirubin levels, the doctor decided to put her under the UV lights in order to help her little body get rid of the excess billirubin that is causing her jaundice. She will be under the dual lighting system for 24 hrs. When they were prepping her it looked like she was getting ready for a tanning session. They put on these sweet purple shades and then put her under the blue lights. She is still eating well and has kept her weight at 4lbs 1oz. All newborns lose weight during the first week of life but then gain it right back and more. Tori has been eating so well that she has kept at a pretty steady weight. She has not gained much but has not really lost either. This is all good news and we cannot wait to bring her home.
