I really do love camping, but not the packing part. I feel like you have to basically take the whole house along. A few days ago I started pulling some things together- and Tori decided to be my big helper!
We did get all packed up (except for our food) last night. Thanks to Willie and Krista for throwing in a few things for us- our little car just couldn't get all of us and our stuff inside! Since we had 8 hours of driving ahead of us, we left our house at 9:30 this morning- I was really proud of us!!! Both kids did such a great job and we didn't have to make a stop until lunch time. Sadly, it was sprinkling and a little cold, but Tori loved eating outside with Daddy and her princess chair!!!
We kept Garrett in the car to keep him a little warmer. He had a fantastic time playing on Mommy's seat!
Tori was so excited when Daddy pulled out Puppy and Blankie to join her for nap time!
Our second big stop was for snacks and a chance for us all to get out of the car for a bit. I am so glad we threw this ball in- Tori ran a bunch of her wiggles out chasing it around!
It was so fun watching her throw the ball and then run to get it again- giggling all the way!
She definitely loved this rest stop!!!
The last two hours of our drive took us through the Smoky Mountain National Park. Oh my goodness- it was absolutely beautiful!!! With our three big stops along the way and hitting a few construction areas, it ended up taking us about 11 hours to get to the Deep Creek campsite in North Carolina. I really was so proud of Tori and Garrett- they were troopers all day long! Willie and Krista had picked out a fabulous campsite and even had dinner waiting for us- it was awesome! In no time at all, our tent was up, things sort of unpacked, and we were settling in for the next few days of camping fun!
Hurrah- we made it!!!
