Wood Badge Beading

(A huge thanks to Douglas for designing Jared's invitation!!!)
Tonight we celebrated with Jared as he received his Wood Badge Beads! For those of you not involved in Scouting, this is the highest level of adult training a leader can receive. It is often compared to an Eagle project. To earn his beads, Jared had to attend two weekend training courses last fall and then complete 5 tickets. He had a year and a half to get them done and finished in 6 months- he was the second one in his entire group of 50 or so to complete his tickets. He did an awesome job and we are so proud of him! Jared's ceremony was really well done and it was so neat to see all the people that were there to support him in his achievement!
John Moore started the ceremony by striking the log with the ax (the Wood Badge symbol representing the old English freeman).
Jeremy Enz presented Jared with his Wood Badge neckerchief!
Tori and Garrett got to take off Jared's old neckerchief!
And we all got to help put on his new one!!!
Doug Pond presented Jared's new woggle. And then Tori got to put that on as well!
This was the best part- Stroh Brann (who was Jared's course director) presenting Jared with his Wood Badge Beads!!! (The beads signify the wearer has completed the most respected scout training program.)
Jared Allen- our very own Wood Badger!!!
Check out that determination!
Tori, Daddy, and Garrett- so cute!
Jared and Rachel- love how this one turned out!
Congrats on getting your beads Jared! You worked so hard and we're so proud of you for this huge accomplishment!!!
