Our Timid Fish

For Tori's birthday this year, Grandma and Grandpa Allen gave her swim lessons!  We were so excited to see how she would do, especially with Jared's background in swimming.  Well, she has been much more cautious and timid than we were anticipating.  But, I think that has made each of her successes that much more sweet!  It has been so neat watching her overcome some of her fear of the water and see how proud she is when she can do something all by herself!
Here is Tori waiting to start her very first swim lesson!
Tori instantly loved her teacher Miss Katie- she was awesome!!!
We walked by this fellow on the way to and from Tori's lessons.  Tori became quite fond of him and asked to get a picture with him!
Just a little nervous being out a bit from Miss Katie!
This was a huge day for Tori!  She was really afraid of using the floats and usually cried whenever they were even brought up.  We were all so proud of her and how she is starting to overcoming that fear!!!
Learning to jump in!
Here is Tori with her swim buddies Chloe and Isabella before their last swim lesson!
Chloe, Tori, Isabella, and Sylvia- waiting on the edge of the pool for lessons to start!!!
 What a great kicker!
I think this was the best back float she did the entire time!
Holy cow- Tori used the floats all by herself- no help whatsoever!!!
Check out our little fish!
Tori looked so cute sitting on the edge of the pool!
 Hurrah- using the floats again!!!
Since it was the last day, all of the kids got to jump in the pool off the blocks as a special treat.  Yeah, we should have stopped while we were still ahead!
I think this swim lesson experience has been awesome for Tori!  She has made new friends and had to tackle some of her fears head-on.  And more importantly, she has learned that she can do things that are hard and do them well!!!
