St. Patrick's Day

I am so very glad that we had visitors for St. Patrick's Day- especially Parker!  It soon became apparent that we have been seriously lacking in our St. Patrick's Day celebrations.  Parker made sure to catch us up on leprechauns and all of their magical qualities, along with other fun facts.  So, I am happy to announce that we finally did St. Patrick's Day proud this year!!!
We started out by making some yummy shamrock cookies (the day before)!
Parker, Tori, and Lincoln did a great job cutting them all out!
I think Tori's favorite part was putting her sprinkles on!!!
Mmmm, delectable!!!
Next, Parker and Jared moved on to some serious business- the building of a leprechaun trap.  You see, if you catch a leprechaun they can give you things.  Parker was sure we could catch one and he especially wanted some magic salad!  Parker thought of everything.  They put a pillow (cotton ball) in the bottom of the  trap so the leprechaun wouldn't be able to stand up.  And they added some magic dust (glitter) so the leprechaun wouldn't be able to snap his fingers and disappear.  Here is the finished product (minus the ladder up to the top- it was still drying)- not too shabby!!!
Yeah for a bunch of green!!! (Parker, Henry, Garrett, Jared, and Lincoln- oh, and Prince, too!)
My favorite part of St. Patrick's Day came this morning- when we all woke up, there were gold coins leading from the bedrooms into the play room and down the stairs.  Henry, Tori, Lincoln, and Parker couldn't wait for us to get the gate open so they could follow the trail!
Parker was the first one to get to the trap to see if it had worked!  His trap had even been tripped, but he just missed catching a leprechaun.  Since he had done such a good job, the leprechaun left each of the kids a little bit of gold at the end of a rainbow!!!
Tori was very excited about her candy!!!
Hurrah for cousin shots- Parker, Tori, Henry, and Lincoln loved their rainbows!
We followed that up by having green princess waffles for breakfast!!!
We hope you enjoyed your St. Patrick's Day celebrations- I know we had a blast with ours!!!  There is no going back to only wearing green!
